Flowers...check!

Today my mom and I went to Jeff's Florist in Newport News. This is the 4th florist I have tried working with and was so happy when the meeting went very smoothly.  It is very hard to find a florist that will deliver to VA beach and I didn't want to find a florist in VA beach because when I want to change things I don't want to drive an hour to talk face-to-face. Paige was so nice and easy to work with. I showed her the inspiration picture I had found and we just worked around that for everyone's flowers. I forgot how many people get flowers! So here are some pictures to give you an idea of my colors.
This is what my bouquet will look like, without the grass sticking up, and a off white ribbon wrap instead of the brown.  The guys will have calla lily boutiners and the bridesmaids will have just the orange and yellow gerbers with the maid of honor having a splash of blue.

Wedding Bands- the kind you wear

So I bought our wedding bands yesterday at zales. It was a little sad since Kirk wasn't there but I did see a ring that I thought was perfect for him.  Mine was a little harder to find since my engagement ring doesn't have a band that matches but I think I found a good one to match.  It was funny when I asked Kirk what kind of wedding band he wanted, he said "I thought we were getting a DJ." He makes me laugh so much.

Venue- Lesner Inn in VA Beach

The ceremony setup/dance floor
So I had actually picked the venue back in the summer since Kirk and I had been talking about getting married, we just weren't officially engaged.  I picked Lesner Inn and Kirk said he liked it to0 after I should him the pictures.  Mom and I went down there back in October and we loved it! It is on the bay with a wall of windows that can be down or up according to the weather.  It will be soo beautiful to have a sunset wedding across the water.

We're engaged!

September 13th, 2010: We went to dinner that night at Olive Garden, and I think we were in and out in 30 minutes flat.  We went to York beach and walked the entire "boardwalk" trying to find a "good spot".  Well we did, and I could tell he was nervous and he kept hugging me and kissing me and telling me he loved me, but  then nothing. After 20 minutes the bugs were eatting me alive and I suggested we leave...really I was trying to encourage him lol. But though we stopped twice on the way to the car...nothing.

We stopped and got some chips and dip. We got back to my apartment, and he pulled me straight out onto the deck....for another 15 minutes of "I love yous" and hand holding.  So I went inside to the bathroom, and when I came out he had moved my table to the side.  I waited anxiously and the image of our first kiss popped into my head.  He was sooo nervous, his leg shakeing, and he went to kiss me and abandoned the notion a second before and ended up huggin me.  This was the same feeling lol.  But finally, he said something like " When I come back , I want you to be mine.  Will you marry me?"  I said " Yes, if you'll get down on one knee and ask me again."  we both laughed, he was sooooo nervous he forgot about the kneeling part.  And so he asked again and I said yes...again.  It was not a commercial moment, but it was perfect and worth the wait. It was truely a reflection of us.
