Catching up

It's been a while since I've written.  Things have been pretty busy so I guess activities like blogging get put on the back burner.  So here is a catch up...

We moved to Gracey, Kentucky after PCSing to Ft. Campbell.  We're renting a 3 bed, 2 bath house on an acre of land in the country.  I love it.

I finally got a job, it's as a substitute teacher's aide.  The pay isn't great but it gives me something to do and some extra money.  Plus it'll be a good job when I go back to school in January.  That's right, i've decided to go back to school for my Medical Technologist bachelor's degree. I finally decided what career I wanted and I think I'll be very happy with it.  I'll make good money, and it has room for advancement and growth, and it seems to always have openings no matter where we may move.  It'll only take me about a year and a half of school.

So right now, we're enjoying married life and the cool weather.  We went to a local farm a couple of weeks ago called Christian Way farms.  They had farm animals and a hay ride that took us to a corn maze and a pumpkin patch.  First time I ever picked my pumpkin off the vine.  We had a real great time.

Sunset Zoo

Today we went to the zoo in Manhattan.  It was small but still very cool to see. The weather was perfect for it and it was good to get out of the house. We saw chimps, cheetas, tigers, bears oh my!, peacock,  snow leopards and others.  And then for dinner since it is Memorial day (and we don't have a grill) I made ribs and mashed potatoes with broccoli. forgot to take a pic, but it was amazing looking...and tasting.

Our Home

So we are renting a 3 bed one bath home in Ogden, KS. a very very small town.  but it is like 30 seconds from ft. riley so it is pretty convenient. The house is a pretty good size but it seems that we still have more stuff than we have places for!.  I believe we're gonna have a yardsale soon.... you know, when you get married you tend to have duplicates of things.  So...of course most of the stuff going is his...hehe. But we're doing pretty great.  The hardest thing to get use to is sleeping in the same bed...I snore and he wiggles...so I think so far we're doing pretty good at this marriage thing.

Our new life

So most of you reading this will already know that we got married in a beautiful ceremony on April 15th in VA beach.  Pics are on my facebook.   Now we've moved to Ogden, KS right outside of Ft. Riley where Kirk works.  The house is pretty set up. Today I did some more decorating and have almost all the boxes out of the the bedroom and everything where it is suppose to be. I hung up pictures and it is definitely looking more like home.  I'm pretty bored and it is only the second day so I am definitely going to look for a job soon. But I do love being here with Kirk.  He really appreciates me and makes me feel good. And Yes, He is doing the dishes as promised! lol.  I'll post pictures later of the house.

Music is covered!

Today I finally obtained a contract with a DJ.  We went with J and M Entertainment (tidewater DJS).  I went to a friend's wedding who had them and they kept the party going.  I'm very excited because DJ Howie threw in some ambiance lighting which I really wanted but didn't want to hire another company to do.  So now I have something else to work on, like songs I DO NOT want played and songs i have to have played. Also, going to a bridal show this weekend with mom. Very excited! 98 days!

Change of Plans

So I just got the first taste of how the army dictates your life.  They will give Kirk a 4 day leave pass for the wedding...then he has to go back to Kansas. HA! Get married and then have him go back.  This means we have to reschedule the honeymoon.  thank goodness I got the protection plan for it.  Let's just hope they have the days open.
